Letter from the Secretary General
Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors, It is my distinct honor to welcome you to the first iteration of Formula Model United Nations India, taking place this January in Mumbai. My name is Aryan Mehta, and I have the immense privilege of serving as your Secretary-General for FMUN India 2026. My own journey with Model UN began right here in Mumbai in 2023, when I stepped into my first conference as a passionate and curious delegate, though, truthfully, I had no idea what was going on! But slowly and steadily, I began to understand the process, the debates, the diplomacy, and the deeper purpose behind it all. As a 9th-grade student at the time, I discovered a growing passion for politics and international affairs, and MUN became an integral part of my life. Since then, my love for conferences like this has only deepened. I’ve had the opportunity to serve on several executive boards, gaining valuable insight into the incredible work that goes on behind the scenes. It was during a quiet history class one Monday that the idea came to me why not create my own conference? One that brings together unique committees, unmatched exposure, and a name that reflects both precision and innovation. That idea became a vision. And that vision became a reality. I present to you: Formula MUN India. It has and always will hold a very special place in my heart. So, what will make this conference truly extraordinary? You will. The delegates. The faculty advisors. The tireless efforts of our team and host partners. You are the reason this conference will be powerful, inspiring, and unforgettable. This year, I can’t wait to be inspired by your passion, your insight, and your commitment to meaningful debate and global understanding. While FMUN India will certainly be fun, it will also be deeply impactful. You will confront some of the world’s most urgent and complex challenges. It might seem like just another speech or clause but the work you do here matters. It has the potential to influence thoughts, inspire change, and shape the leaders of tomorrow. Each conversation will stretch your thinking and deepen your empathy. And our directors some of the most talented and dedicated student leaders in Mumbai are here to help you push your boundaries and achieve the highest level of excellence in every committee room. This conference will bring together some of the brightest young minds from across the region and beyond. Embrace that. Collaborate generously. Challenge yourself. Be curious. Be bold. Learn from your directors, from each other, and from the journey you are about to begin. Soak up every moment. Leave nothing on the table. Dear Delegates, Welcome to Formula Model United Nations 2026. I’m Maanyah Gathani, serving as your Deputy Secretary-General this year. FMUN has always been more than just debate: it’s a space for people who think differently, speak boldly, and carry themselves with purpose. You’re not here by chance; you’re here because you’ve earned your place at the table. LeBron James once said, “I like criticism. It makes you strong.” Over the next few days, take that to heart. You’ll be challenged, questioned, and maybe even proven wrong — but that’s the point. Growth doesn’t happen in comfort. So take it easy, stay sharp, and let your work speak for itself.
